I'm Jessie. I'm 21 years old, and I am a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying New Media Design.
Observation is my thing. I love to craft drawings and designs by taking the beauty that I see in the world and translating it to a piece of paper.
When I started studying interactive design at RIT, I realized this practice could be applied not only to rendering the form of objects, but to understanding the user experience.
I started making observations in the everyday decisions of life. By studying how people made choices on a regular basis, I learned how a designer could take a way of thinking combined with a talent for rendering and create something beautiful.
I began to search for ways to make simple tasks easier for individuals in order to create experiences that would help users make digital decisions with ease to focus on what really matters: their relationships, communities, hobbies, passions, and celebrations of life.
In the future, I hope to find opportunities to apply my knowledge in design to help others around the world who do not have the same access to the technology, education, food, shelter and love that I have had in my life.
